Spa Humbug

Most people go to a spa to relax, get pampered and de stress. Spa’s in Southern California now offer a treatment called Cahi-yok. Not to be confused with Bok-choi, which coincidentally can also be steamed preferably not at the same time, Chai-yok is an ancient Korean spa treatment for the vaginal area that involves sitting on an open seated stool while steam rises from a boiling pot of a mugwort (not to be confused with Hogworts although I do believe there may be some witchcraft involved here perhaps even voodoo) tea blended with wormwood and a variety of other herbs.

So you sit and squat and voila, it’s stress reducing, infection fighting and fertility boosting. And if that weren’t enough reason to book a V-steam, Chai-yok is also recommended for the relief of hemorrhoids, not your significant other, but the real McCoy kind.

Treatments can cost anywhere from $20 to $75 (depending on your location) which begs the question, aren’t they all in the same general vicinity?

A 45 year old woman reported to the LA Times that she became pregnant after only five V-steam treatments. The article did not say whether the woman also had sexual intercourse during that same time period. We can only assume. But as we all know from experience assume can sometimes make an “ass” out of “u” and “me”. I am of the mind that the ass squatted on the open aired stool pretty much pre-empted and solidified that assumption.
