Oh Lord it's Hard to be Humble

Ever have to deal with a narcissistic person? Talk about self centeredness. Fun isn't it? I'll tell you when the fun will start. Once the centre of the earth is revealed and those self- absorbed, self-important, egotistical, "it's all about me" folks discover they're not it. BINGO! Rude awakening realized.

In order to deal with this type of person you first need to be able to spot the signs: self serving behaviour (manipulative); exploiting others (discrimination); idealized thinking (praise or criticism) delusions of grandeur (embellishes their self-worth); sense of entitlement (recognition required); the need for a 'narcissistic supply' of admiration (constant stroking); and being pea green with envy of others accomplishments. (Jealousy to the nth degree)

Experts recommend getting as far away as possible from the narcissistic person. Just walk away and keep walking. But sometimes that’s easier said than done. So say you can’t walk away. What then? Avoid getting angry because the narcissist is pretty adept at pushing buttons. This is a tough one but it can be done. Set some boundaries both socially and physically. And try not to feel guilty. These people aren’t worth it.
