Tennis the Menace

Ten nis- [ten-is]-noun- 1. a game played on a rectangular court by two players or two pairs of players equipped with rackets, in which a ball is driven back and forth over a low net that divides the court in half. 2. a socially acceptable outlet for the overly aggressive, over achiever, who must work even when they play, must compete vehemently even in the presence of friends, must not only defeat an opponent but reduce him or her to a heaping pile of humiliation and leave them cursing and cowering helpless on the hard, grass or clay court, while in the distance the melody of the birds can be heard and the summer breezes beckon. 3. The inspiration behind Tina Turner`s 1985 Grammy award winning successful single, "What's Love Got to Do with It". 4. The only event aside from marriages of convenience where love means nothing; 5. the number of items placed on David Letterman`s nightly top list. 6. a perfectly good reason to promote remote access and work from home; 7. two less than a dozen. 8. the number of times I have asked my kid to clean her room in the last half-hour; 9. the number of siblings I have; 10. the number of commandments, eight of which I have broken (Jesus that`s a lot!) oops did it again! Do I covet my neighbours house? Technically it's a condo and the commandments clearly state house. Keep the Sabbath? Sundays are for football. Idolize other gods? Yup guilty. Vamos Rafa! Roger That! I must be going straight to hell. Oh well I can play tennis in the heat.
