Did you know that a large bag of movie theatre popcorn has an amount of fat equivalent to not one, but two Big Macs? It also has a day’s worth of sodium. That stuff can kill you especially if you chew it with your mouth open apparently. Didn’t your mother always tell you to keep your mouth closed while chewing food? Or was that just my mother? Well a 42 year old man from Latvia was fatally shot by a movie goer for just that reason. And you thought I was bad for asking buddy to move his coat.

Both men were viewing the psychological thriller, The Black Swan, when the incident took place. Sure the movie kind of sucked but you can’t be going around and taking it out on innocent, loudly chewing bystanders. The shooter was a police academy graduate (should have known better) with a law degree (really should have known better) with a legally owned firearm. Another argument for “wouldn’t it be great if everybody had a gun?”
A bag of movie theatre popcorn occasionally is not going to kill you; however, follow my mother’s advice and don’t chew with your mouth open just in case some psycho Betty or Bob is sitting nearby
