Perfect Pitch
Have you heard about this homeless person in Columbus, Ohio? His discovery has been dubbed the feel good story of the year and we're only a few days into it. For the last 10 years Ted Williams had been living in a tent after falling on hard times. He admits to alcohol and drug abuse as the cause of his downfall but claims to be two years sober. A videograher from a local television station spotted Williams panhandling along the side of the road and stopped to read the cardboard sign he was holding. The sign said he had a ``God given gift of voice`` and was an ``ex radio announcer``. The videographer asked him to speak and Ted obliged. Weeks later the videographer tracked Ted down; made a video; posted it on youtube and it went viral. As a result Ted has made appearances on the Today Show; Jimmy Fallon; CBS Morning and Good Morning America. He is being showered with job offers for voice overs from the Cleveland Cavaliers; Karft Foods; and even Oprah. And he was reunited with his 90 year old mother whom he had not seen in 10 years. Doesn`t get any better than this folks.
Williams does indeed have a very distinctive baritone voice comparable to a Barry White (You`re the first, the last, my everything) or a James Earl Jones, aka Darth Vader (Luke I am your father)
You can`t help but feel happy for this guy. I on the other hand have no God given talents other than the ability to whine at will. Why not me? Why doesn't anything good ever happen to me? See what I mean? I'm really good at it.
