The Tourist

Yesterday I went to see The Tourist. It stars Johnny Depp and takes place in Venice, Italy. The scenery is unbelievably gorgeous and Venice isn't bad either. Angelina Jolie also stars but like the plot, has as much substance as tofu. The best line of the movie comes at the very end but I won’t spoil it for those of you wishing to see this soon to be released in video, so called blockbuster. OK I really don't care whether you wish to see it or not actually. The line is spoken by Jolie to Deep regarding his plastic surgery to disguise his appearance which happens to be his character Pearce as Depp. "So 20 million dollars and this is the face you come up with?" This is seriously funny since even dressed as a hobo Depp is one handsome piece of ...................eye candy. (And you thought I was going to say ass, right?) Don’t get me wrong, Depp, while undeniably good looking is also a talented actor but he isn’t a miracle worker. Even his talents couldn’t save this film.

Here's the premise of the movie. Take the two best looking actors in Hollywood and throw them together and make sure Johnny Depp appears in all the trailers and voila. You have sucked in the entire female demographic. Men will go because their significant other will make them and once they realize Angelina Jolie stars opposite Depp there will be no need for coaxing.

At the end of the movie I had but one thing to say. “I want my money back”.
