Inglorious Besters

With 2010 coming to an end it’s time to look back on the people who were the best at being the worst of this past year. There were some high profile celebrities of course including my pick for top spots Lindsay Lohan, Charlie Sheen and Tiger Woods. But the three of them had plenty of company.
Jets football assistant Sal Alosi intentionally tripped Nolan Carroll, an opposing Miami Dolphin player, on the sidelines during a game. Testing gravity by causing a player to fall to earth at rapid speed is no excuse. This year anyway, Sal’s fifteen minutes of fame will not be realized as the recipient of the 2010 sportsman of the year award but rather in front of 80,000 spectators on a nationally broadcast sporting event engaged in what can only be described as some sort of infantile prank.
Wikileaks founder Julien Assange wants his privacy. Ironic isn’t it? The man who makes his living leaking private information insists his whereabouts while out on bail be kept secret. I’m not all that impressed with the information that has been leaked up to this point. You know what would be really impressive? Leaking the recipe for Colonel Sanders Kentucky Fried Chicken, all 17 herbs and spices would be most impressive.
Rob Ford is elected mayor of Toronto. If he had a theme song it would be Send in the Clowns. But at his inauguration they were already here.
