This Little Piggy Went To Rikers

Did you hear the one about Arnold Schwarzenegger and IMF President Dominique Strauss-Kahn walking into a bar with Porky Pig? The bartender says “Sorry, we don’t serve swine.” To which Porky replies, “That’s no way to talk to my new best friends.” My apologies to Porky.

Those few who have not yet read or heard of Arnold’s infidelities or Kahn’s accommodations in New York City’s Rikers Island Jail, you are in luck. You can catch up on all the shenanigans in next week’s issue of Time Magazine with the cover story titled, "Sex. Lies. Arrogance. What Makes Powerful Men Act Like Pigs”, with nothing but a small photo of a pig in the corner with an even smaller apology to the swine for painting the pig with the same brush as the two-legged ones. These two have literally coined the phrase, “pigs in a blanket”.

Kahn is the President of the International Monetary Fund and up until just a few days ago, considered the front runner to be the next President of France. They sure can pick em. Kahn has been charged with sexually assaulting a chambermaid in his midtown Manhattan hotel. And all of this transpired after working on bailing out Portugal and under pressure to assist both Greece and Ireland with the burdensome terms of their bailout loans. Now I ask you where does this man find the time to fit in a felony? Frenchmen, who knew?

The news is all over this of course because everyone just doesn’t love a slinky. They love to see sleazy as well. So whenever one person steps forward with allegations, the closet full of skeletons is released and the list of offenses gets longer and longer. Kahn is no different. A journalist claims she was offered interviews with Kahn in exchange for sex. An IMF subordinate had a one night stand but also hinted Kahn “had a small problem”. Let’s just say he wasn’t singing “Good Morning, Good Morning”, skipping down the street, or hurdling over water hydrants. A politician has come forward and stated she was groped by Kahn.

On the NBC News broadcast last night Brian Williams said that “bad behaviour by Frenchmen is often perceived as de rigueur”. He added that in France private lives are ignored and aggressive courting is acceptable. Which brings me to my conclusion; what do Pepe le pew and Dominique Strauss-Kahn have in common? They are both French and they both stink. My apologies to Pepe.
