Bicentennial Blog

In case you hadn’t noticed today’s blog entry is officially number 200. Hard to believe I could come up with 200 different topics to actually write about. I admit some (ok many)were lame. Coming up with ideas to blog about is hard work. I’ve noticed my rants, which have been somewhat routine of late, usually garner a greater audience. (Often times as many as 10 views) This has me considering a blog name change from Survivor Toronto to “The Wrath of Cathy”.

So I was thinking of the Oscars being aired this evening and how each winner has only 45 seconds to deliver their acceptance speech. It’s rather ironic that actors throughout their careers, study, read and memorize their lines yet when it comes to delivering a 45 second speech they seem to be at a loss for words. The ones who feel the need to pull out notes are the worst. It’s like they expect to win. Whatever happened to the element of surprise and sincerity? I would like to see someone shit themselves right there on the stage. "I’d like to thank the Academy and especially Depends Undergarments for making this all possible.”

So to coincide with this evening at the Oscars, I’ve prepared my own speech on this, the occasion of my 200th blog entry.

I would like to thank my followers, those faithful few who continue to read my daily blog daily, no doubt hoping that one day soon will be my last.

I would also like to thank my family, who, while secretly say they read my blog, could totally care less about it which is ironic since if it were not for them, there would be no blog because I would still have a day job and no time to write. How do I thank thee? Let me count the ways.

And to those ardent readers, you know who you are, (A.H., M.B., I.K., G.G., P.K., L.S., J.S. and lately, G.T.) who continue to provide the constant stroking (comments) necessary for me to not give up, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And, contrary to popular belief, I do have one.
