La-hoo-sa-her!

My football team just lost in the playoffs. I have to say they really didn`t look good from the get go so it didn`t come as a total shock. I am sad just the same. Ì try to tell myself it`s not whether you win or lose, it`s how you play the game. But that`s just something losers say to themselves. Hell, it`s my mantra. When it`s elimination you really should play to win.

I got a strange feeling early on in the game that things were not going to go well. You know that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach just before hurling. My spouse tried to console me by saying ``It ain`t over `til it`s over``. Which made me feel somewhat better because he could just as easily have said it ain`t over `til the fat lady sings, which incidentally was exactly what I had been doing prior to this exchange in pleasantries.

The only saving grace is knowing that I am not alone in my grief. Collectively, there are as many as six New England states and countless others in mourning as we speak. Good news is the Australian Open has begun. Tennis anyone ?
