If you’re anything like me, New Year’s resolutions take the form of eating less, exercising more and becoming a better you. This year, I’m changing all of that. I am going to start small and keep my resolutions.
I resolve to return my rented DVD’s on time. No more paying overdue charges for me.
I resolve to make my commute to and from work a more pleasant experience. This may take some creativity on my part. So for all of you out there from Sarnia Road to Oxford Street east via UWO, starting January 1, if you notice one fewer disgruntled driver on the road, your welcome.
I resolve not to look at the glass half empty, (with the exception of my wine glass) and will have my rose colored glasses that I snapped in two while en route to work one blustery morning repaired.
I resolve to try to place myself in my children’s shoes, figuratively speaking. So if my room’s a mess I will not fuss. Should I decide to sleep until noon, I will feel no guilt. Phone calls from school will no longer stress me out. I will view university tuition as an investment in my future as well as my child’s rather than an expense that will take the few remaining discretionary dollars I may have had and suck them out of my bank account like a Hoover.
But most of all, I resolve to be a realist; so much for my resolutions.
